I received a hand-crafted card decades ago which inspired me to start my journey in card-making via stamping. When I moved to Texas, my distant friends were not forgotten, and I had more reasons to create! I happily discovered conventions for stampers in the Texas area. This was exciting to a self-taught creator. I faithfully attended to add to my stash and knowledge. In recent years, I've become an avid YouTube follower of a dozen plus creators. I now make my own embellishments, learned a variety of techniques, and built a collection of upbeat, positive stamps and dies.
While my friends had been encouraging me to sell my cards for years, I had few opportunities. I never considered pursuing it seriously, but the thought was appealing. Joining Visual Arts of Prosper in 2020 gave me the confidence and the opportunity to pursue my passion. Through VAP, I was exposed to many forms of art, I made friendships, and I was given opportunities to sell my creations.
